Inspired by a French and European sensibility, Palm Beach House connects to its surrounding natural elements and expresses a keen interior sophistication. Bone Made proposes a home of balance and restraint, focusing on refined detailing and a volumetric approach to embed a feeling of generosity both internally and out towards the luscious surrounds.

Located in its namesake suburb, Palm Beach House balances the familiar coastal and carefree aesthetic with a deeply layered and rich interior approach. The interior design takes heeded influence from the French brasserie in combining materiality, contrast and refinement with unique and nuanced details dotted throughout. As an occasional home for its owners, embodying a calm and laidback ambience was crucial to the home – each of the resulting insertions and layers needed to reflect that casual and serene nature. Working closely with the client, Bone Made focuses on adding texture and balance to enrich the interior experience.

In its enviable siting, ensuring connections with the built form to the landscape and views beyond became a core objective. Palm Beach House emphasises its high vaulted internal ceilings using a mostly white palette, which is then grounded by the timber herringbone oak flooring laid underfoot. An overall sense of restraint ensures the surrounding views remain the focus, seeing the interior materiality elicit a tactile experience, where the owner and guests can feel encased and protected from the outdoor elements.

Internally, the newly formed kitchen becomes the focal point of the home – a centre stage for living. As a place of function, socialisation and constant engagement, the large island bench sits oversized within the space as both a piece of crafted furniture and as a place to gather. The supporting joinery then sits recessively, allowing the curation of furniture, lighting and artwork to be highlighted as a key part of the journey within. A mostly monochromatic palette sees darker fixtures and lighting adorn the light base, allowing a curated timelessness to inhabit the design.

In drawing the eye outward and allowing a free-flowing movement between interior and exterior spaces, Palm Beach House is a private sanctuary immersed in its stunning location. Focusing on what makes a weekender home such a desirable destination, Bone Made has crafted a series of spaces that expertly capture the location, becoming the ideal destination to disconnect.
