With a striking sculptural facade and a refined interior, Scorpia by Graya is an innovative home that makes the most of its stunning hilltop location.

Located in Brisbane’s Hamilton, Scorpia is perched on a hill that gifts stunning views of the city below. Immediately striking from the street, the bold stonework and contemporary lines of the home’s exterior provide Scorpia with a strong presence. The three-level home itself is equally as captivating, featuring a penthouse-style main bedroom, swimming pool, wine cellar, elevator and six-car showroom-style basement.

Immediately striking from the street, the bold stonework and contemporary lines of the home’s exterior provide Scorpia with a strong presence.

Set on an extremely sloping site, Graya had to devise a way to navigate this challenge. Construction started with advanced slab preparation techniques to ensure a strong foundation. This also necessitated a commitment to safety and scheduling, with traffic management solutions implemented to minimise any disruptions to the community.

Central to Scorpia’s design is maximising the connection between the indoors and outdoors. Panoramic views of Brisbane and the river are captured at every opportunity. Each space is thoughtfully positioned to welcome natural light into the home, especially the central atrium. Similarly, stunning landscaping with cascading elements encourages outdoor living, as does a floating pool.

Finishes including crazy pave travertine, off-form concrete ceilings and Venetian plaster walls pair with Turkish marble, Italian travertine and European oak flooring to evoke Mediterranean-inspired luxury.

Materials and furnishings are luxurious and sophisticated. The entryway is lined with stonework that continues throughout the rest of the home, imbuing a raw elegance. Finishes including crazy pave travertine, off-form concrete ceilings and Venetian plaster walls pair with Turkish marble, Italian travertine and European oak flooring to evoke Mediterranean-inspired luxury. Sheer curtains and a neutral, minimal colour palette are complemented by sculptural staircases and artistic lighting. This sense of luxury continues in the kitchen, which houses Miele appliances and an internal gas fireplace.

Injecting the Hamilton locale with a robust architectural home, Scorpia embodies the essence of modern and innovative design.
