Reflections of Nature – The King Living Rug Collection
For more than four decades, King Living has remained at the vanguard of Australian furniture design. The company’s new handcrafted rug collection echoes its long-held values of quality, longevity and luxury, with styles and shades to suit a variety of interior settings.
The rug collection pays homage to Australia’s diverse landscapes through a nature-inspired palette and textural compositions. Designed in Australia and handwoven by artisans in India, the collection is available in two durable fibres: 100 per cent New Zealand wool and recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), both manufactured in keeping with the brand’s environmentally conscious ethos.
From focal pieces to more subtle, complementary additions, the collection caters to a spectrum of indoor and outdoor spaces. Each design is available in three sizes and may also be custom-sized, ensuring a tailored fit for any space. Designs of note include the Gambit Check, a soft-to-touch pure New Zealand wool rug reminiscent of the 1970s classic check; Antipodes, a collection inspired by ethereal land surfaces; and Esperance, an effortlessly refined piece that is handwoven with 100 per cent recycled PET. Each rug is crafted using traditional hand-weaving and hand-dyeing techniques designed to stand the test of time.
As a long-standing champion of fair-trade practices, King Living is a member of Care and Fair, an international organisation striving to eradicate child labour in rug-weaving areas. As an extension of this commitment, a percentage of all rug profits are donated to this cause.

The new collection reflects King Living’s ethos of approaching design for the home as a cohesive whole. “The introduction of our rug collection emphasises our holistic approach to Australian design,” says Sebastian Nash, Textile and Rug Designer at King Living. “We aimed to create a harmonious offering that seamlessly integrates into any home, providing timeless and elegant designs for our customers.”
