Rakumba, in collaboration with Dutch design agency Studio Truly Truly, presents the Typography Floor Lamp – a customisable portable luminaire that is destined to become the most flexible floor lamp in the world.
Australia’s oldest international lighting brand Rakumba has been committed to creating the world’s most beautiful decorative lighting products through collaborations with established and emerging designers for over 50 years. The Typography Floor Lamp represents their most unique venture to date and epitomises their strong belief in delivery effortless complexity through contemporary elegance.
The Typography Floor Lamp is another beautiful addition to the ongoing collaboration between Rakumba and Studio Truly Truly – a Dutch based design agency founded by Australian designers Joel & Kate Booy. The latest product draws inspiration from elements of the Typography Cilon lighting collection and offers the unprecedented opportunity to create endless personal expressions in design beauty through the luminaire’s flexibility and customisable components.
“We’re particularly excited to release a totally new concept in floor lamps,” states Rakumba’s Director Michael Murray. “Design enthusiasts can make their own selection of lights and attach them in any combination and in any position they desire. Expanding Typography with the new floor lamp makes the system available for a plethora of new applications because it doesn’t need to be installed by an electrician”.
Hinged on Rakumba’s innovative rail system, patent pending, each of the seven luminaire components featured on the Typography Floor Lamp can be customised and dimmed individually giving owners total creative freedom to express themselves through contemporary lighting design.
The design possibilities created through the Typography Floor Lamp are almost limitless. Each light can be positioned anywhere along the stylish stand and on any of four locations around the central axis. Owners are encouraged to remove and add new lights over time as personal preferences and requirements change. The Typography Floor Lamp will be introduced to the world as part of Studio Truly Truly’s Das Haus at the IMM Cologne on the 14th to the 19th of January.
