Tiffany & Co. Brisbane by Hugh Dutton
Exuding the level of brilliance synonymous with the almost 200-year-old brand, Tiffany & Co. Brisbane in Queens Plaza is a celebration of the luxury house’s legacy embedded in artisanship and exquisite design.
Composed of a kinetic light sculpture reminiscent of a sparkling diamond, the luminous facade of the ninth Australian store is immediately eye-catching. Designed by regular Tiffany & Co. collaborator Hugh Dutton – the Paris-based studio behind the Diamond Skylight installation at the recently revamped Fifth Avenue flagship – it is one of the first Tiffany & Co. stores in the Asia-Pacific region to feature a Hugh Dutton-designed exterior.
Inside, custom textured silk panels by Peter Marino for Rubelli adorn the walls, and there is a blue bird feature with glass gems inspired by Jean Schlumberger’s iconic Bird on a Rock designs. The palette is mostly neutral, save for elements of blue – both Tiffany & Co.’s trademarked tone as well as deeper shades – and the white and silver backdrop is crisp with a glittery effect tempered by plush rugs and parquet timber floors.
The shopping experience is heightened by two private salons. The first features orchid graphics designed by Jason Schmidt and the second boasts gold raked plaster walls by contemporary artist Caspar Jansen. There’s also a bespoke hand-blown glass chandelier created in partnership with Lasvit hanging in the Love and Engagement space. Lastly, clients can explore Australia’s very first Elsa Peretti gallery where many of the legendary Italian designer’s creations are displayed.
Showcasing jewels from the New-York-based luxury house’s wide-ranging collections – from high jewellery to home and accessories– Tiffany & Co. Brisbane is a dynamic addition to the brand’s ever-growing retail portfolio and a destination unto itself.
