As its landmark 10th anniversary approaches, Tigmi launches a series of new rug collections that embodies its commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design.

Tigmi brings its signature aesthetic – where traditional artistry meets contemporary living – to a series of new rug collections, Cashmere and Modern Tribal Inspired. Reflecting the Byron Bay-based brand’s ethos, the new rugs are understated, elevated and enduring, with craftsmanship at their core. “Our journey has always been rooted in the artistry of handmade craft,” says founder and creative director Danielle McEwan. “With these latest collections, I feel we are coming full circle, honouring our origins while evolving the traditional aesthetic to suit modern interiors.”

The Modern Tribal rugs bring “a worldly sensibility and layered depth to contemporary spaces. They celebrate authenticity, subtle imperfections and tactile richness.”

Cashmere is a refined series that blends cashmere and wool, resulting in rugs that are supremely plush underfoot yet inherently durable. With a dense 200-knot count and traditional woven trim, the collection comes in four timeless tones – burnt caramel, camel, ivory and wheat. “It’s a very refined palette and quite understated, bringing a new level of elegance to Tigmi,” says McEwan.

The Modern Tribal series comes in seven iterations – Dune, Mauritia, Nomad, Jute de Base, Esparto, Flacq and Sahara – and draws its inspiration from traditional rug-making countries like Morocco and Mauritania. Hand-knotted from materials that include Afghan wool, leather and jute, the rugs bring what McEwan describes as a “worldly sensibility and layered depth to contemporary spaces. They celebrate authenticity, subtle imperfections and tactile richness.”

All of Tigmi’s rugs are GoodWeave certified, ensuring safe labour practices while supporting traditional artisans and their communities.

Tigmi remains deeply committed to ethical and sustainable practices. All of its rugs are GoodWeave certified, ensuring safe labour practices while supporting traditional artisans and their communities. Materials are selected both for their performance and low environmental impact, and are sourced with certification wherever possible. “Our rugs aren’t just beautiful objects – they are enduring investments in quality, culture and craftsmanship.”

As the company nears a decade of design, these new collections reaffirm Tigmi’s founding vision: to create timeless pieces, crafted with intention and made to last.
