Venroy Opens a Pool-Like Reverie in the Heart of LA

Following the success of its New York store, Bondi-born fashion label Venroy has expanded west, opening its first showroom in Los Angeles.

Bringing with it the coastal ease of Sydney’s Bondi and the refined casualness that has come to define its design language, Venroy’s latest showroom offering sees the brand make its Los Angeles debut – settling effortlessly into a corner of Melrose Avenue where sunlight meets slow living.

In a considered nod to the city’s cinematic past, the store takes inspiration from the hedonistic glamour of 1970s poolside culture.

Following the resounding success of its SoHo outpost in New York, the decision to expand westward reads less like a commercial move and more like a natural progression – a kind of sun-drenched homecoming. LA is, after all, Sydney’s spiritual sister, sharing a common language of leisure, light and understated luxury.

In a considered nod to the city’s cinematic past, the store takes inspiration from the hedonistic glamour of 1970s poolside culture. Rendered in cool blue glass and concrete, the central installation – an abstract evocation of a swimming pool – anchors the space in a playful yet precise way. Light dances across tiled surfaces, refracted as though off chlorinated water, casting a calm rhythm throughout.

Rather than mimic the tropes of retail, the design feels more like a set piece, inviting visitors to pause, observe and linger.

The atmosphere is immersive and transportive. Rather than mimic the tropes of retail, the design feels more like a set piece, inviting visitors to pause, observe and linger,  much like one would on a sun lounge beneath a brilliant Californian sun. It’s architectural storytelling, distilled through the lens of summer.

Venroy’s arrival in LA speaks to more than just expansion. It represents an evolving conversation between place and product, where each store becomes a lens through which the brand reinterprets its own identity. At 8483 Melrose Avenue, that identity is glassy, sunlit and endlessly poolside. The store is open until December.
