Boilermaker House
by Studio Y.

A triumph in local Australian interior design that captures the essence of the roaring 1920’s.
The Boilermaker House by local Australian interior design and architecture firm Studio Y is a beautifully designed bar located in Melbourne that perfectly carries on the Boilermaker tradition of matching a beer to a whiskey and creating new flavours and experiences in the process.
The Boilermaker House by Studio Y. is the newest family member of the Speakeasy bar group. The interior design of the bar perfectly encapsulates the essence of American society during the roaring 1920’s. Boilermaker House is all about sharing a great passion with the Melbourne drinking community- malt whiskey and delicious craft beer. The bar itself houses more than 700 types of whiskey bottles as well as 12 beers on tap and an additional 50 brews. Studio Y. was tasked with designing a space that paid tribute to this impressive collection of alcohol.
The Boilermaker House is masculine yet refined, urban yet intimate. Studio Y. has created the ultimate working class man’s watering hole and refuge. The idea was to design a bar that could give respite to the poor working man’s soul and ease the pressure of life’s daily demands. Studio Y. have succeeded beautifully by creating the Boilermaker House.
