From The Designer
Bondi’s Best was a renowned brand prior to the Hall St scheme and this established high quality of food had to be replicated in the quality of the interior fit out. Taking hints from its Bondi Beach position but staying away from design characterises of a traditional fish shop, Bondi’s Best delivers a new take on this iconic Australian institution. A friendly experience has been created with lowered rope roofing and ambient tonal investigations of blues and grey, highlighted with brass and timber. Together with these sits silver Travertine clad counters with fine brass trim, revealing of the characteristic fusion between the natural, artistic components and the very crisp and clean. The exclusive split-use floor plan encompassing both fresh seafood and dining was the stimulus for the feature fish locker wall. Performing as both form and function the exhibition windows comprise large fresh fish but also perform as a visual link ¬between the takeaway and dining.
