From The Architects
This was an inside restoration of a 1920s cottage style house. Interior walls were removed and novel timber kitchen and furnishings added. The low-cost redesign used basic materials, for example, v-notched sheet wall lining and limed pine floors. Areas were repurposed when the house was turned upside down’ to place the living zones on the brighter, airier top level. The joinery was hand crafted to benefit as much as possible from existing spaces. White, finished walls, and easygoing yet natural and shapely furniture loan a freely curated feel to the house for a youthful family.
