House SE
by Walter & Walter
From The Architect
An early Victorian workers cottage transformed into a unique conceptual design of small liveable spaces.
Designed by architects from Walter & Walter, House SE has a familiar and specific spatial quality which embodies concepts that supports a small footprint of living, whilst at the same time, revisits a spatial tradition throughout the original house, by exploring alternatives for the organisation of small living spaces.
Focusing on the qualities of individual rooms, this house has been curated by architects with a play of separate yet connected spaces, allowing activity to occur in both a horizontal and vertical direction, whilst creating plenty of space for play for both children and natural light throughout.
With the use of monochrome tones, softened by pale woods, the final design outcome of this house, is modern and cosy and results in a easily liveable space throughout, which both accommodates for private family time and intimate entertaining when required.
