A 1980s home needed its interiors brought up to date without compromising its architectural integrity.
Whilst preserving its original characteristics including glass bricks, pale timber-lined ceilings, grey terrazzo floor and front door, the core of the brief was to revive the interior.
The main design features include custom cabinetry, the repetition of pattern and geometric details, and colour blocking. Other main features include revamped stairs, a novel kitchen/dining area, study recess, a renovation of the fireplace, new family bathrooms and other wet areas, refurbished master bedroom and ensuite.
The renovated fireplace is the dazzling central point of the living area. Stone tiles displayed in a chevron pattern and folded copper panels hide the outlet. The room is balanced by the added height of the new tailored shelving on the back wall.
The kitchen has become the focal core of the house after being totally renovated and revitalised. It comprises a breakfast preparation bar within the walk-in-pantry, and a casual eating space with a bespoke pedestal leg table.
The original entry was reshaped to allow for a plentiful WIR, as the owners desired the master bedroom to be their sanctuary. A larger ensuite was created by minimising unused space in the entrance below.
