Jacaranda House

Designed around a Jacaranda Tree on a steep site, SP Studio thoughtfully reinterprets the 1920s Queenslander to foster a contemporary lifestyle. By carving into the hill beneath the house, two living spaces are constantly cooled by the thermal mass of the rock and earth encasing it.
Although the Jacaranda House balances old and new, indoor and outdoor, the material palette remains cohesive with brick, timber and concrete.
