From The Designer
We were approached by Saxon Wright to design the Pablo & Rusty’s Cafe in Brisbane’s CBD.
The site we inherited was very minimal with a lot of natural light as 2 of the walls fully glazed. This double aspect encouraged us to create a strong visual feature within the space, whilst keeping a clean aesthetic. The versatility and customisation level of Wood Form Concept Click allowed us to creatively clad the walls and bulkheads and tie in the acoustic properties of the product as there were several hard-reflective surfaces throughout.
Pablo & Rusty’s was the first totally cashless cafe – the first of its kind in Australia and a test venture for the brand, and we wanted to reflect this streamlined service with a streamlined design – clean lines of the Wood Form, and a pared back palette of Vic Ash, Zinc, White Architectural Render and Concrete. Given its proximity to the Brisbane River and Botanic Gardens, the liberal use of timber and greenery elements connected the two loosely.
