From The Architects
This site is located in Sydney’s northern beaches encompassing a 1:1 slope and panoramic beach views, which inspired the form of the design. . This development is a three-story solid foundation cut in to the hillside, which comprises all the bedrooms and ancillary accommodation. This allowed a rooftop with an approximately 350 meter-squared terrace connecting back to the hillside. This rooftop is constructed almost like a distinct single-story home with lightweight steel-framed pavilions freely arranged containing outdoor terraces and a swimming pool.
From The Architects
The expansive eaves and floor finishes highlight the correlation between the internal spaces and the roof terrace around them. The kitchen and living room act as 2 “islands” within the terrace, with the dining room acting as an enclosable region amid them. At the back of the site, the bush land and large trees are left unharmed and complimented with natural landscaping, which winds up to a sequence of architectural elements in the landscape.
