Timber is used extensively and in varied methods throughout from warm internal protected ceilings to rougher, board and batten systems externally which will gracefully wear over time.
From The Architect
Necessitated by a growing extended family and constant wear of the tough coastal environment this is the third interpretation of a holiday home in Point Lonsdale that was previously renovated by architect John Castles.
A sensitive new rear addition celebrates existing elements and is separated from the original house by a long skylight which slices between original and new. Timber is used extensively and in varied methods throughout from warm internal protected ceilings to rougher, board and batten systems externally which will gracefully wear over time.
