Walsh Bay Bathroom
by Minosa Design
The Walsh bay Bathroom is an award winning interior design project by Minosa Design’s Darren Genner. The local design is defined by quality European sourced fittings and fixtures, a freestanding bath, efficient storage solutions, double basins, separate shower and a efficient use of natural light. Overall the client sought a design that was high-end, minimal and modern. This Sydney bathroom screams style and is a key example of beautiful local Australian design.
The client wanted a stylish, minimal and modern bathing space. The client was also well researched on European bathroom brands and was open to importing anything that Darren Genner felt appropriate for this interior design project. The finalised local interior design needed to co-exist with high quality European designer brands. This is an example of Australian design combining with European style. This bathroom had to be seamlessly connected to the dressing room that was located next to the ensuite adjacent the master bedroom. The clients wanted a good use of artificial light, as the bathroom design didn’t have a window. The client also detested grout and it was vital to the design that a seamless product be applied to all walls and the shower floors.
Another significant interior design element is the timber floor. The client request that Darren Genner selected an engineered Oak floor from Salvage. As there is no movement in this product Minosa could install tight to walls with the selected cladding finished over the top of this floor with a detailed shadow-line. The modern flooring plays on the space making it feel so much larger as it runs throughout the entire apartment. Cladding was installed onsite with beautiful curved corners and seamless joins. Soft and silky to touch the end result was a perfect backdrop to the product selected and the grout issue was eliminated entirely. A perfect local design solution to an existing problem.
