The Coulee Daybed evolved out of a creative collaboration with Patryk Koca and Hegi Design House. This daybed was inspired by the linear forms and layering of ancient canyons, the arteries of the earth. Feature lines meld between the steel frame and upholstery stitching, creating continuity and purpose wherever you look. Coulee is a statement piece for the home or office, a place to admire peacefully and to relax in comfort.
Hegi is a Gerringong-based design studio exclusively dedicated to creating furniture from sustainably-sourced materials. Juri (furniture maker) and Nelli (designer) are passionate about sustainable timber and steel and weave these elements in to creating minimalistic furniture which contribute to a tangible sense of classic sophistication at home. Juri strives to infuse simple elegance in to every design; whether it’s a dining table, or a lounge chair. These are standout, hand-crafted pieces designed to be handed down to future generations.
HEGI is a husband and wife duo. Juri and Nelli, a horse-dog and small human called Mia Rose, the boss (handcrafted by Hegi Design House but not for sale yet). HEGI was born out of the inspiration garnered on international travels. Juri and Nelli have always fostered a love for furniture design and handmade pieces and as a team have combined their soulfulness and craftmanship in all aspects of the business. Juri’s background is in cabinetmaking and welding; his scrupulous attention to detail is demonstrated in his workmanship. For almost a decade, Nelli has worked as marketing manager and designer for international global players.
