Helios

Brand Bover
Designer Gonzalo Milà

The Helios designed by Gonzalo Milà is an artisan wall lamp that radiates filtered light through the weave of cotton threads from its lampshade. Casting shadows on the wall, Helios is designed to be used to create light murals, where designing your own cluster establishes a unique atmosphere all of your own. Helios comes in two sizes in muted tones that blend organic roots with wabi-sabi aesthetics. This Japanese trend is based on the idea of knowing how to find beauty in the imperfections of objects or materials.

About The Designer

Born in Barcelona in 1967, Gonzalo Milà began his studies in Architecture before joining the Miguel Milà design studio in 1988.  His experience gained led him to study Industrial Design at the Elisava School. In 1994, he joined forces with Juan Carlos Ines to open the Ines-Milà studio, which was the birthplace of pieces such as the Tutombas Pranha easy chair and the Balensiya rocking chair.
Milà later co-founded Milà Diseño with Miguel and Micaela Milà. Signature projects of the studio included the interior design of Casa Milà and the Rama lamppost, winner of the ADI-FAD Delta de Plata award. In 1999, he joined Santa & Cole Ediciones de Diseño as head of the urban division, focussing on the development of new products.
Since 2001, Milà has run his own studio, creating urban furniture, indoor and outdoor lighting, accessories, and projects that integrate wildlife into urban spaces. A strict essentialist, Milà’s design philosophy is humane, approachable, and grounded in the fundamental importance of utility.
