Zena

Designer Artedomus

Quarried in the area of Tivoli Terme, Rome, this classic Roman travertine has been used in Italy as building material since the Middle Ages and can still be seen today. The quarries are situated in the plain surrounding the Acque Albule’s springs, optimal zone for the formation and extraction of precious, durable and unique travertine. This wonderful natural stone was used by the Romans approximately 2,500 years ago and its use has lasted widely to the present day. This happened due to the enormous extracting basin of Tivoli Terme and thanks to indisputable travertine’s qualities such as the endurance, the warm and timeless colour, the uniformity and the adaptability to various architectural styles, from Romanic to Renaissance, from Baroque to Rationalist and Minimalist. The magical city of Rome embodies all of these styles and Roman travertine; it enriches any monument, church, fountain, villa or private house. One of our lighter toned travertines, Zena is a beautiful stone suitable for floors and walls for both internal and external use.

It can be seen used at the incredible House of the Infinite residence by Alberto Campo Baeza in collaboration with Tomás Carranza, Javier Montero in Cádiz, Spain.
