25 Urunga Parade
Positioned on the waterfront just north of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Le Bateau Ivre is a sensitively restored 1930s Queenslander, thoughtfully reimagined by interior designer Tamsin Johnson in collaboration with the home’s owner, jewellery and fashion designer Lucy Folk. Infused with a relaxed yet refined sensibility, the home brings together artful restraint and nostalgic charm, balancing the warmth of traditional timber architecture with a contemporary expression of coastal living.
Throughout, curated objects, vintage pieces and natural textures establish a sense of timelessness, each space unfolding with a quiet rhythm that feels both grounded and elevated. Sunlight moves freely through the home’s open interiors, where soft linen, weathered stone and hand-finished timbers lend a lived-in ease. The design resists ornamentation in favour of honest materiality and subtle layering, allowing the original structure to breathe.
Le Bateau Ivre – the name is taken from a Rimbaud poem – is more than a home, it’s a reflection of a shared vision, where every detail has been considered and composed to celebrate imperfection, impermanence and place. At once nostalgic and new, it is an invitation to experience coastal living through a lens of beauty, soul and restraint.
