94 Speight Street
Taouk Architects has explored how spatial flow and material restraint can shape a more connected way of living in these home in one of Thornbury’s established residential pockets.
From the street, the composition is measured and understated, gradually revealing a more expansive interior defined by light, volume and carefully framed outlooks.
The plan is arranged around a series of interconnected living zones that open directly to landscaped outdoor areas, encouraging movement between inside and out. Full-height glazing and considered voids draw natural light deep into the plan, while moments of compression and openness create a layered spatial experience throughout.
Materiality is central to the home’s identity. Stone, timber and tactile finishes are balanced against more robust elements, establishing a sense of warmth and durability. This approach extends to the kitchen and communal areas, where bespoke detailing and integrated joinery support a calm and highly functional environment.
Through a restrained yet expressive architectural language, Taouk Architects has delivered a residence that responds to contemporary urban living, balancing density and privacy with a strong connection to landscape and daily life.
