Architects EAT

Architects EAT is a Melbourne based architecture and interior design practice. Their projects range from small-scale private homes and apartments to high-rise residential developments, retail, local government and hospitality projects. The practice has grown from a small three-man operation to a firm that is capable of designing and procuring large-scale commercial projects across Australia and Asia. Established in 2000 by Albert Mo and Eid Goh in South Yarra, Melbourne after graduating from the University of Melbourne and gaining experience locally and in Singapore. The partnership complements one another; Albert grew a strong reputation in residential projects while Eid specialized in hospitality and retail. Today, they’re based in Fitzroy, Melbourne with a team of more than 25 headed by James Coombe who was made Associate Director in 2015. Architects EAT works have been awarded numerous prizes, including “Best Residential Interior” in 2016, “The Belle Apartment of the Year Award” in 2007, “Best Hospitality Interior” in 2008 and “The Australian Institute of Architects Award for Residential Architecture” in 2010. Their quirky style and approach to design is an amazing contribution not only to Melbourne’s design scene, but can be commended globally. Their projects are consistently being published across various forums, newspapers and magazines internationally. Albert, Eid and James run a practice known for the sensitive approach, sensory elements and tactile quality present in their projects. Their philosophical approach to design and innovation results in buildings that are intimately connected to their function and individual context as well as always being unique in their design.
