The studio use retrofit technologies and techniques to improve a building’s thermal performance. They use a collaborative design model working with building designers, engineers, thermal performance assessors and landscapers to create holistic and cohesive sustainable design outcome. They provide comprehensive interior design services for interior fit outs of new and existing residential and commercial spaces. They work to reconfigure and refurbish a space to transform the look, functionality and ambience using ecologically sound principals and non-toxic materials. They use best choice sustainably produced and non-toxic products creating environments that are timeless, high quality and healthy to inhabit. Their design methodology is client responsive, they take the time to understand the way clients use an environment and what their unique needs, preferences and objectives are. The studio provides a specialised service consulting and designing permaculture systems within the built, interior and landscape environment. This approach looks at at property as a holistic system by analysing patterns of use, inputs and outputs, ecological features, social context and sustainable potential. They provide permaculture garden designs for urban and suburban spaces, including productive medicinal and food producing plants, ornamental and native plants, water harvesting, nutrient management systems, children’s spaces and outdoor living areas. BRAVE NEW ECO works collaboratively with owners, designers and developers on medium to large scale projects defining sustainable design objectives and strategies specific to that project. They also provide art directing and styling services for various editorial, exhibition and installation photographic and film projects.
