Honeyman and Smith

Honeyman and Smith is a Victorian based design studio lead by Directors Thomas Honeyman and Sara Smith. The progressive office, established in 2010, focuses on the enhancement of experience and relationship to place. Honeyman and Smith provide services for Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture Design and Landscape Architecture consultation, believing the unification of these elements maintains the strongest composition. Their work ranges from small residential alterations and additions, single houses, multi residential to commercial schemes as well as installations and furniture design. Client interaction and communication allows each project to have a unique and focused result. Thomas and Sara believe that the functional performance of a building is a crucial part of the design, through its planning, breathing, lighting and sustainability while beauty, presence and vitality are key elements. This harmony brings a heightened sense of ‘ourselves’ within a tailored space. While autonomy, truth and atmosphere seem increasingly hard to find in the built environment, it is this that drives Honeyman and Smith to develop designs that once again awaken the senses and promote the precision of architecture and the relationship to people and context. Strategic thinking through the design process is the key element for any Honeyman and Smith project.
