Jon Goulder

Jon Goulder is a fourth generation furniture maker and craftsman. Materials, structure, form and function were understood by Jon from an early age, and he started his apprenticeship in the family business when he was just fifteen. In 1996 he was selected to study at the Canberra School of Art. His design consultancy, Jon Goulder Design Maker, has been operating strongly since 1998. With over fifteen years in the industry, he now has over 20 products manufactured under license. He is currently the Creative Director of the Furniture Studio at the Jam Factory in Adelaide. Jon is a master craftsperson and a skilled designer he is currently focused on developing his 1 off and limited edition collections for representation in Australia, America and Europe. His work varies from exhibitions, private commissions, one-off installation designs and design for royalty based agreements with manufacturers. His work has featured in a number of major exhibitions and publications around the world. Jon has won several design prizes including the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award. Jon’s work is held in permanent collections by most State and National Museums and Art Galleries including the National Gallery of Australia.
