2016 Emerging Architect Prize winners, panovscott began in 2012 and was bolstered by an already existent partnership between co-directors Andrew Scott and Anita Panov.
Their interest lies in the built outcome of design, the making of architecture.
The studio’s collective experience has been accumulated via lengthy apprenticeships with much-lauded architects and their project-based preoccupations are augmented with an ongoing commitment to academic and travel based research.
In the five years since forming, panovscott’s completed work has focused on the domestic scale, steering projects with constrained sites and often small budgets through design, approval and construction. Despite this, the aspiration to make joyful spaces and a meaningful contribution to the built environment comes to the fore in all their work.
The studio’s growing portfolio of built projects has been awarded and commended at local, state and national awards programs, and widely published in a variety of media.
More recently, panovscott have been invited to participate in projects of a public nature. They see this as further recognition that the design thinking required of small projects is transferable from the private to the public domain.
The studio prides itself on making spaces for people.
