The Spotted Quoll Studio

The Spotted Quoll Studio is a design and homewares studio based in Tasmania, inspired by the environment surrounding its birthplace — natural, native flora and fauna. From the outset, the ethos of The Spotted Quoll Studio was to create beautiful, ethical wares, featuring original, environmentally-inspired designs. They craft their products in an environmentally sustainable manner that evokes thought for the future, and the preservation of the wilderness and fragile species living within it. The Spotted Quoll Studio works with or sources components from certified fair trade workshops globally, including a number of collaborations with local industries such as the historic Waverley Woollen Mills. Tamika Bannister is the founder, director, designer, maker and captain of this amazing ship. The SQ Studio was founded in 2009 with nothing more than a vision. With over a decade of experience in sales and marketing a move to the “creative side” has refreshed Tamika’s soul and made her a passionate convert to the global slow fashion movement. The Spotted Quoll Studio’s locally designed and made products can be purchased on The Local Project’s Marketplace which showcases and promotes the very best in local Australian furniture and product design. The Spotted Quoll Studio’s products can also be viewed at the Catapult Design showroom located in Pyrmont, Sydney.
