The existing building was re-imagined, inside and out, to create a light-filled, confident and contemporary showroom to display Space’s extensive folio of global brands.
The facades fronting onto Chester Street and Doggett Street have been veiled with a new custom architectural perforated screen. This rhythm and height of this metallic lining add weight to the streetscape above whilst defining a showcase window below. Green marble defines the entry within this zone.
Internally, a suite of new planted lanterns flood the showroom with daylight, blurring the line between inside and out whilst adding rhythm and definition to the plan. Services and structure were carefully edited and exposed with a high level wall lining of grey rubber inserted to provide a definitive confident datum to focus the eye.
A subtle yet nuanced palette of tone, hue and material combine to provide a considered backdrop to showcase the Space brand portfolio.
