Views of Port Phillip Bay are a treasured commodity throughout Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, with the bayside taking on mythical qualities in recent years, especially as space and a connection to nature have become important tools for living. As a celebration of the bay, Lowe Living’s Azura Aspendale project not only delivers panoramic views but serves as the new exemplar of beachfront living anywhere in Melbourne.

As always, property developer Lowe Living has embraced a collaborative approach for the exclusive new abodes, with Chamberlain Architects, GOLDEN and Jack Merlo coming together to create a memorable setting along one of Port Phillip Bay’s most spectacular stretches of beach. When the design for the Azura development was first being presented, it was apparent that the ingredients for a special result were there – beautifully envisaged apartment living right on the beach. Now coming to fruition two years on, the finished result emphasises just how special the opportunity for homeowners is, as the reality of the execution and attention to detail provided to the building by Chamberlain Architects and internally by GOLDEN is fully brought to life by builder Lowe Create.

A sense of community is created through the enviable direct beach access, but each of these residences is a study in retreat and seclusion, having sought inspiration through the tropical modernist examples of Brazil and Asia. The concrete, red brick and timber palette sits in harmony with the coastal landscape the building kisses. For Lowe Living Managing Director Tim Lowe, it is this meticulous craftsmanship and attention to site that is the most impressive aspect of the project. “Azura Aspendale is inspired by its unique location. Its sophistication and sensitivity to its surrounds is something that we have not yet seen in beachside living,” explains Tim. “From the tranquillity afforded by spectacular use of light and space to its sleek, stylish and premium finishes, Azura Aspendale represents a new generation of high-end coastal living.”

The buildings are enveloped by lush native plantings, with foliage and greenery cohesively linking landscape and architecture. As one journeys inside the residences, light timber tones await, courtesy of engineered oak floorboards and timber grain texture in the kitchen. Chalky limestones and vibrant green ceramic tile feature walls complement lush exteriors and further cement the sense of cohesion inherent in the approach to these homes. Luxurious appliances from Miele and Fisher & Paykel in the kitchens and natural wool carpets in all the bedrooms complete the sense of understated opulence inherent.

As a celebration of the bay, Lowe Living’s Azura Aspendale project not only delivers panoramic views but serves as the new exemplar of beachfront living anywhere in Melbourne.

For those lucky enough to call Azura Aspendale home, its real beauty is fully realised through living in their new homes, enjoying the reverence and connection to the elite location. A set of four boutique buildings culminate to create the Azura Aspendale development, but the sense of calm and community makes it abundantly clear that what Lowe Living and its collaborative partners have achieved here is indeed one single whole.
