Intended to command a space with a delicately distinctive silhouette, Broad by Kate Stokes is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional pendant. Imbuing spaces with a gently diffused light, Broad is available in black, white or eucalypt, designed to sit above tables from dining rooms to board rooms. Also featured in the 2021 collection is the flatpack bed and table series, Nami by Tom Fereday. Nami – meaning ‘wave’ in Japanese – is comprised of a side table, dining table, coffee table, bed, sofa, armchair and ottoman. Handcrafted in New South Wales, Nami is made using sustainably certified solid timber, sculpted for longevity and to celebrate its natural materiality.
Adam Goodrum contributes a new collection in Harbour – a homely selection, including an armchair, sofa and bed, inspired by an authentic application of material and craft that captures the Australian way of life. Adam also expands nau’s commercial offerings, with the inclusion of Softply, Don and Rib, which can seamlessly interchange between both commercial and residential areas. Seating collection Softply pushes material boundaries, comprised of a stackable chair, as well as both bar and counter height stools in a selection of finishes. Don is both lightweight and robust, exploring comfort and detailing in a playful interplay. Inspired by Sydney’s MLC centre, Rib is the first pedestal table in the nau collection. Available in walnut, oak, ash or black-stained ash, Rib is deceptively durable, appearing visually lightweight with a striking versatility.
As the first outdoor selection offered by nau, Terrace, Yuki and Strand Bistro by Adam Cornish are bold in purpose. Terrace is identifiable by its sleek lines and refined curves, boasting functionality and durability. Available in lounge chair, dining chair or bar stool options, Terrace is prepared with stainless-steel wires, incrementally curved to craft an embracing seat. Yuki’s graphic frame contrasts hard and soft edges with quality material. Comprised of a sofa and an armchair, Yuki is available for residential or commercial contexts. The newest addition to the Strand collection is the Strand Bistro Table Outdoor, available in both dining and bar heights, taking cues from braided steel cables that work together in unison. Inspired by 1950s vintage steel works, Stand is a tactile and durable endeavour perfectly suited for a range of Australian outdoor settings.
Valuing elegant quality, supported comfort and versatile practicality, the nau 2021 collection is a humble reimaging of traditional pieces in a contemporary perspective.
