Meaningful Creation – Introducing Siete Studio
Breaking new ground, multidisciplinary practice Siete Studio introduces its core furniture collection to the Australian market. The bold venture coincides with the global launch of its newest range, Fragua.
Founded in 2020 in Mexico City and Australia, Siete Studio enacts a philosophy centred on collectible design that connects their pieces with their users and architectural spaces. The studio pushes against the stifling quality of strictly practical design, instead producing functional works that also fulfil intangible needs. Attesting to such brand ideology, Siete Studio is named in reference to the Spanish translation of the number seven. A remarkable digit, the number seven represents spirituality in the field of mathematics and has relevance within astrology, classical antiquity and nature.
Understanding the value of a continued narrative, Siete Studio crafts pieces that both capture heritage and entail and longevity by utilising naturally resistant materials such as wood, steel, resin and glass.
The Nube Sofa, Mercurio Lamp and the Totem collection proudly exemplify the core Siete Studio line. With a sturdy framework adorned with voluminous white cushions, the Nube Sofa proposes the imagined experience of falling into a cloud. The sculpted piece is instantly recognisable, with rounded edges and a solid walnut base. Conversely, the Mercurio Lamp represents a minimal interpretation of geometric form. With a cone-like base – serving as a totemic reference – the lamp echoes the astronomical analogy of Mercury in the form of a hand-blown glass sphere.
Meanwhile, the Totem collection is inspired by the studio’s Mexican heritage and pays homage to historical totemic sculptures. The collection celebrates the connection between culture and nature and is handcrafted from solid walnut.

Translating to ‘forge’ in Spanish, the Fragua collection is rooted in traditional metal artisanship. Influenced by the relationship between earth and fire, the range nods towards the journey the material takes – from naturally occurring in the earth, through to interacting with flames and culminating in its sculptural result. Emerging from a minimal approach to the brutalist style, the designs are expressive combinations of material, geometry, texture and considered construction. In a manner unique to Siete Studio, the collection originates from the abstract realm and engages spatial dynamics. Although the outcome is comprised of individual pieces of furniture, each work captures multiple meanings.
From its use of language to its artisanship, Siete Studio thoroughly pursues the notion of meaning, geometry and function. The introduction of the core furniture collection to the Australian market and the launch of Fragua represent an exciting opportunity for users to navigate the profound – experiencing products that are much more than the sum of their parts.
