Flooring at the Forefront of Design — Havwoods South Yarra
With almost 50 years of experience in sourcing the finest engineered timber flooring and cladding, Havwoods has launched a new showroom in Victoria’s South Yarra.
Established in 1975 , Havwoods is a family owned and operated business with global presence and a stand-out dedication to quality, expertise and service. Specialists in sourcing the finest engineered timber flooring and cladding, Havwoods’s passion for ensuring customers receive high-quality wood floors and wood wall panels for homes, retail stores and workspace is unmatched. Having previously called West Melbourne home in Victoria, Havwoods’s brand-new location has now opened its doors in South Yarra.
Located in Melbourne’s bustling south-east, the newest Havwoods showroom joins the vibrant design community in South Yarra, close to its loyal base of architects, designers and clients. Open to the public for the first time in November 2022, the showroom sees Havwoods bring over four decades of experience helping customers meet their project requirements and create dream spaces.
The move east opens more opportunities for its clients to use the showroom as an extension of their design process. The space encourages people to come in, collaborate with the knowledgeable consultants and use it as part of their project journey. Understanding that flooring is one of the largest and most important areas of a project, the experience of selecting the material is made as straightforward and enjoyable as possible.
Custom designed by Brisbane-based interior designers Collectivus, the new showroom combines natural tones and finishes designed to complement the Havwoods timber products. “Havwoods engaged Collectivus to design a contemporary showroom space that utilises a refined palette of light materials incorporating timber, warm greys and brass finishes,” explains Thomas Black, Collectivus Senior Interior Designer. “The palette is minimal and deliberately so, ensuring focus does not stray from the beauty of the product on display.”
This new showroom is an inviting and collaborative space, designed so that customers receive a personalised consultation with its team of product and technical experts. “With careful spatial consideration, our intent was to cater for a multitude of customer types that experience the store. How they each engage with the staff and the product itself was at the forefront of our functional requirements,” says Thomas. “Upon entry, a custom stone coffee bar grounds the space, making use of angled geometry to cast shadows and create depth. Havwood timber stretches out under foot, transitioning from one product to another – creating the ultimate customer experience. This is complemented with neutral rendered walls and textured tiling details,” adds Thomas.
