Industry Connections – Stylecraft Introduces Life and Other Stories by Tacchini
Representing the latest endeavour by Tacchini, the Life and Other Stories collection harmonises with the established philosophy of the brand. Available exclusively through Stylecraft, the collection of furniture and accessories is comprised of both classic and contemporary works that testify to the strength of industry connections.
As with all Tacchini collections, Life and Other Stories is underpinned by the relationship formed between Giusi Tacchini and the product designer. In each instance, the success of the bond owes to a mutual understanding of the value of design. Both parties believe that well-designed products establish environments in which humans can explore their own essence and, as such, they play a vital role in creating stages for life. Life and Other Stories forms the most recent Tacchini contribution to the interior environment, with classic designs reissued alongside works from inspiring modern-day creatives.

Le Mura sofa, Sesann lounge and Pigreco chair are among the select iconic works to be reissued. A revolutionary piece within the context of 1970s Italian design, Le Mura presents modularity as the key to flexible living. The re-established sofa entails an enhanced sense of comfort that emerges from engagement with the original designer, Mario Bellini. Sesann lounge was also designed in the 1970s, however, its distinguished cushioning and tubular metal frame express the distinct perspective of Gianfranco Frattini. In contrast to the plush volume of Sesann, Pigreco by Tovia Scarpa emphasises the interplay of solids and voids. Featuring two back legs positioned together with a small gap running between them, the structure takes cues from a triangle, whilst a curving backrest establishes an elegant expression. The Tacchini re-edition of Pigreco includes the material options Canaletto Walnut, Walnut-stained Ash and Charcoal Grey Ash, as well as leather or fabric for the seat covering.
New releases Five to Nine daybed, Venus vase and the Campo rug collection reflect contemporary design ideals. Crafted by Milan-based Studiopepe, Five to Nine indicates an adventurous approach to form, with rows of bolster cushions settled onto a solid timber frame. The sophisticated presentation of Five to Nine allows the piece to fit seamlessly into commercial environments such as galleries and hotel lobbies. Studiopepe also crafts Venus, a ceramic vase of soft contours that pays homage to the Roman God of the same name. Carefully worked in order to provide two openings, the piece embodies the modern appreciation of craftmanship. Expressing a similar value system is the Campo collection by Clasesson Koivisto, where each rug in the range is hand-woven in Nepal using 100 per cent Himalayan wool.
