Galvanised by local Australian product designer Michael Gittings and his studio is a beautiful example of Australian stainless steel furniture.
Galvanised by award winning local Australian product designer Michael Gittings is a beautiful example of how stainless steel can be used to create a stunning piece of home furniture design. The galvanised series was inspired by Marcel Breuer’s beautifully austere chair with wooden slats, designed while at the Bauhaus in 1923. Michael has built his very own dining setting out of galvanised steel and stainless steel mesh seats and backs. When designing Galvanised Michael Gittings wanted to play on the current home design trend towards metallics in modern society. The end result was a piece of home furniture design that featured a style combining a unique mix of modern, industrial and traditional design traits.
