On the edge of stunning Lake Wakatipu, property developers 94 Feet and Centuria are set to break ground on a multi-billion-dollar, game-changing development, Te Taumata | Lakeview, which promises to redefine urban living in Queenstown. After five years of planning, Roto, the first residential collection in this hub of luxury living, is set to be released.

For the momentous development, 94 Feet assembled some of the best and brightest minds in design, including architects Monk Mackenzie and Architectus Aotearoa, which sought inspiration from smart cities globally and drew on the most innovative developments in sustainable design, with the aim to be net positive for energy, water and waste. Equally important was for Te Taumata | Lakeview to have a strong sense of place, which involved collaborating with Māori designers and artists to create a project that respects the cultural heritage of the region.

“The precinct sits as a restrained, respective interface between Queenstown’s natural attractions and its urban fabric,” says 94 Feet’s managing director, Dean Rzechta.

Roto, the first residential release, consists of five towers of luxury residences, which rise in airy pillars, designed to deliver uninterrupted views of Lake Wakatipu or towards the striking form of Ben Lomond mountain. There is a sense of elevated living here – with valet and concierge services, and an onsite sommelier and personal shopper.

Just as the restrained exterior of the buildings is designed to complement the landscape, the residences’ interiors are also imbued with a sense of calm and connection. Comfort and functionality have been prioritised, yet the materiality is sleek and minimal so as not to distract from the energy-replenishing views.

The project aims to be a life-enhancing development, nurturing the health and wellbeing of its residents. More than half of the precinct is devoted to open spaces and public walkways, where people (and pets) can peacefully enjoy lush gardens or feed their souls with social connection and planned activities such as live performances.

The precinct’s beating heart is Te Huika, a community congregation point curated by two of the visionaries behind the Britomart precinct. The space will be a haven for work, play and cultural enrichment, with vibrant co-working spaces alongside a fitness centre, wellness sanctuary and a cultural hub that includes an art gallery and world-class retail and dining experiences.

This combination of unmatched facilities, a deep consideration of sustainability and world-class architecture – seamlessly woven into the awe-inspiring surrounds of Tāhuna (Queenstown) – puts Te Taumata | Lakeview in a class of its own.
