Sixty years of experience crafting rugs and carpets from New Zealand wool has culminated in Bremworth’s immersive Auckland showroom, where clients can make their dream interiors a reality.

For more than six decades, Bremworth has been crafting exceptional carpets and rugs from premium New Zealand wool. Now, the longstanding New Zealand brand’s innovative and creative approach to this sustainable natural fibre is on full display at Bremworth Experience Centre, the company’s new industry-first showroom in Auckland design and interiors hub Residium (formerly Auckland Home Ideas Centre), located in Parnell. Luxurious and on-trend, the space is the perfect reflection of Bremworth’s heritage and brand values.

Inspired by the raw beauty of nature and adhering to the brand’s 2021 commitment to phase out synthetic carpets, authentic materials and superb craftsmanship have been used throughout the showroom to spotlight New Zealand wool. It’s woven into every element of the space, from carpet samples that reach from floor to ceiling to the display units and impactful on-trend coloured rugs. A chunky, wool-covered feature wall dominates the space and asserts Bremworth’s intention: to celebrate the magic and beauty of this natural fibre.

Inspired by the raw beauty of nature and adhering to the brand’s 2021 commitment to phase out synthetic carpets, authentic materials and superb craftsmanship have been used throughout the showroom to spotlight New Zealand wool.

The brand’s products contrast with rendered plaster on the walls and island bench, solid-timber benchtops and Prime European Oak Quarter Cut veneer cabinetry and timber flooring. Deep forest greens synonymous with the New Zealand landscape are splashed on chairs and benches throughout, subtly contrasting with striking sculptural pendants as well as the raw majesty of the wool products.

Tactility and immersion are key elements of the showroom’s design, which is a collaboration between Bremworth, Izzard Design and FSL Construction & Interiors. Their work has been recognised in New Zealand’s 2024 Interior Awards, where the showroom is a finalist in the retail division. The company’s floorcoverings are showcased in large-scale wall panels, underfoot and in smaller samples for customers to touch, and to experience their lush pile, distinctive softness and brilliant colourways up close. Clients can experience the differences between hard and soft carpeting, flooring transitions and variations in pile, and harness the space’s design to compare the products with other natural materials they might use in their own project.

Innovation is built into the Bremworth brand, and this pioneering approach extends to the interactive customer experience at the Experience Centre. Clients are invited to bring their dream interiors to life in a nook to one side of the showroom, where they can match elements such as timbers and other textiles with Bremworth’s range.

Team members can assist by pulling samples from other New Zealand suppliers and will work with clients to create made-to-order bespoke rugs to perfectly fit the aesthetics of their home or project. Continuing with the hands-on theme of the showroom, clients are encouraged to bring their own interiors samples and create three-dimensional mood boards using carpet samples, timber, metal, stone and paint swatches supplied by Bremworth.

While the space is designed to allow clients to experience the beauty of Bremworth’s products first-hand, it’s also been optimised to simplify the selection process. Design consultants are on hand to help home builders and buyers, renovators, architects and designers visualise their interiors and connect with the brand’s philosophies and offerings. Samples are available to take home and experiment with in-situ, to facilitate building a space from the ground up.

Bremworth’s commitment to sustainability is laced through every element of the space’s materials and fabrications, which have been chosen for their low environmental footprint. The showroom is a reflection of the company’s essence: wool is biodegradable and renewable, and its durability and natural stain- and odour-resistance mean Bremworth products will last for many years to come.

While this is the first showroom of its kind, Bremworth hopes to continue rolling out its innovations in future spaces across New Zealand and Australia, sharing its pioneering practices in the wool space with an ever-growing audience.
