94 by Duett Interiors
The latest project from Duett Interiors, 94, transforms an abandoned Miami home into a stylish, family-friendly residence that balances functionality with artistic flair.
The transformation of 94 into a warm, inviting family home is evident from the outset. The foyer features an awe-inspiring spiral staircase, a sculptural marvel that sets the tone for the rest of the house. This staircase, which illuminates at night, offers an immediate visual impact, hinting at the sophisticated interplay of light and space that defines the entire home.
The open floor plan reveals two distinct living spaces flanked by expansive glazing, providing unobstructed views of the bayfront. This design choice serves to not only maximise natural light but also foster a sense of openness and connectivity throughout the home. The right wing of the first floor features a game room, guest bedroom and two guest bathrooms, ensuring privacy and comfort for visitors.
The heart of the home lies in the left wing, where the kitchen, breakfast nook, formal dining room and powder bathroom are thoughtfully integrated. Here, the blend of functionality and style is paramount. The kitchen, with its sleek, modern design, becomes a hub for family gatherings and culinary adventures, seamlessly connecting to the dining and breakfast areas.
Upstairs, the design continues to unfold. The right wing houses another guest bedroom, a bathroom and a nursery – all designed with a keen eye for detail and comfort. The left wing is dedicated to the primary suite, complete with a bedroom, closet, bathroom and a private game room. This primary wing offers a retreat-like experience, emphasising privacy and luxury.
The design incorporates the artful use of vintage furniture and sculptural elements, inspired by the vibrant culture of Miami and the playful spirit of the 1970s. The selection of pieces like the low-slung vintage couch in the living room, reupholstered in chocolate linen and the brass sculptural chair from Gallery FUMI, adds layers of history and character to the space.
The outdoor area is designed for entertainment and relaxation, featuring a large pool coated in black plaster, turf grass and two seating areas, along with an outdoor kitchen and dining space. This entertainer’s backyard is a natural extension of the home’s indoor spaces, designed to host gatherings and create lasting memories.
Reflecting on the project, Tiffany Thompson, founder of Duett Interiors, noted that the design successfully captures the vision and lifestyle of the client, a prominent NBA player. “I’m proud of how the client reacted and loves the space. That’s the most important thing for me as a designer,” she says. “It has to look good, but, more importantly, it has to feel good. It has to be everything the client imagined and more. I believe we achieved that. It feels timeless and distinct.”
In the bustling city of Miami, 94 by Duett Interiors showcases sophisticated design, where every element works in harmony to create a functional and beautiful home by the waterfront.
