RZK Group transformed a lacklustre project home on the NSW Central Coast into a luxurious family residence marked by flexible spaces, elevated fixtures and a considered materiality.

Located in the semi-rural suburb of Fountaindale on the NSW Central Coast, Fountaindale Serenitas by RZK Group is a deeply personal and highly functional home. Designed for a family of six with a demanding lifestyle, the brief called for elegant, flexible spaces that support daily routines while celebrating individuality. As a multidisciplinary studio, RZK Group seamlessly unified architecture, interior design and project management, ensuring creative integrity was maintained from initial concept through to final execution, and that every detail responded to the client’s needs.

A palette of travertine, pale oak, dark timber, marble, quartzite and accents of antique brass and bronze establishes a consistent design language.

Originally a 500-square-metre, single-storey project home with fragmented and underused spaces, RZK Group restructured the layout to improve flow, natural light and the relationship between indoor and outdoor zones. Key to this was removing unnecessary partitions to open up the home and bring the outdoors in through large glass sliding doors overlooking the garden. Throughout the home, bespoke design elements were created with both personality and longevity in mind. Tailored touches such as custom bedheads, wardrobes, curved joinery and fluted glass details add richness and identity to each room.

A palette of travertine, pale oak, dark timber, marble, quartzite and accents of antique brass and bronze establishes a consistent design language grounded in craftsmanship and compositional balance. The interplay of materials adds depth and texture throughout, with a moodier, more tactile palette defining the kitchen, living areas and master suite. In contrast, the children’s zones are expressed through lighter tones. Painted walls were intentionally minimised in favour of rich vertical treatments, including layered stone, wallpaper, timber panelling and textured surfaces, adding dimension and quiet drama to each space.

A generous island bench in Taj Mahal quartzite anchors the kitchen, its warm, marble-like veining complemented by bronze pendant lights.

In the kitchen, a generous island bench in Taj Mahal quartzite anchors the space, its warm, marble-like veining complemented by bronze pendant lights and a custom rangehood. Fully integrated appliances and a concealed walk-in pantry ensure a clean, streamlined finish. The sense of quiet opulence continues through to the living room, where a Horizon Edge fireplace and mosaic feature wall create a textured, inviting focal point. Integrated joinery conceals entertainment systems, while natural finishes complement the surrounding landscape. Other spaces like the multipurpose rumpus room and dedicated study niche were designed with flexibility and longevity in mind, supporting the family’s evolving routines without compromising on aesthetics.

The master suite also presents an ambience of subdued luxury, evidenced in a custom upholstered bedhead, leather bed frame, ambient LED lighting and a Steccawood timber-look feature wall. The ensuite reflects the haven-like atmosphere of the bedroom, with a Taj Mahal quartzite-topped vanity, oversized walk-in shower, brass tapware and striking mosaics from Earp Bros.

RZK Group used a lighter, more whimsical touch for the children’s bedrooms, which are marked by curvaceous forms and custom joinery, and were designed to reflect the personality of each child. Rooms are punctuated by splashes of individuality, like a floral wallpaper mural from Olive et Oriel, a Danny Fang Fandango pendant and rugs from Armadillo.

From initial concept sketches to specifications, site co-ordination and the sourcing of furniture, lighting and decor, RZK Group managed every detail of the project. Its holistic approach ensured creative consistency and allowed the team to remain agile as practical needs evolved. Fountaindale Serenitas is a clear expression of the company’s ethos of designing quality, story-rich spaces that are elevated, enduring and authentic to those who live in them.
