Description

Heath’s Dual Glaze collection combines multiple glazes on a single tile, creating the illusion of varying tile sizes within an installation. Now offered in a range of six new glaze combinations on both rectangular and triangular sizes, these tile blends can be arranged in nearly limitless patterns.

Product Details & Specifications

The collection comprises 6 different tile sizes. Each size is sold in a pre-determined blend of glaze layouts: rectangles are offered in a 3-tile blend, and the 4″ triangle comes in a 4-tile blend.

Each of the 7 different glazes includes a blend of dual and solid glazes, in a combination of matte, glossy, and unglazed textures.

Heath tiles are certified by Declare for chemical transparency, making them a good fit for LEED, WELL, and Living Building Certified buildings.

About The Designer

Heath Ceramics designs, makes, and sells dinnerware and architectural tile. The company was founded in California in 1948 by Edith and Brian Heath, and steadily earned wide recognition for its range of simple, beautiful dinnerware designs in stunning glazes. In the 1960s, Heath expanded into ceramic tile, and—after being commissioned to provide custom tile for the Pasadena Art Museum (now the Norton Simon Museum)—was awarded the prestigious Industrial Arts Medal award from the American Institute of Architects. Today, Heath Ceramics has two factories and four showrooms in California, plus an outpost in Austin, TX. Beyond its core range of ceramic products, Heath also offers linens, glassware, and decor from other likeminded makers. While the company hasn’t strayed far from its roots (in fact, they still make dinnerware in the same factory Edith and Brian opened in the ‘50s), they have emerged as a leader in the field of design, collaborating with celebrated restauranteurs (Alice Waters), makers (Artek), and design studios (Commune), as well as providing tile and dinnerware to numerous private, commercial, and public projects.
