Facing the iconic Hudson River, Hudson Riverfront Residence celebrates both city and water views. Designed by Studio SC, its vibrant interiors not only reflect the surrounding vistas but also the dynamic life of a young family.

Though a highway separates the dwelling from the river, the view from inside remains uninterrupted. Elevated above the road, the residence looks directly onto the water, a vantage point that plays a central role in the interior design. The scheme embraces the sights while providing refuge from the bustle of the city. Curated colours and textures offer a warm interpretation of the scenery, well-suited to a family home. Each element complements the architecture’s clean lines, the character of shared and private spaces, as well as the personalities of the occupants. Many furniture pieces are custom-made from durable materials or sourced as vintage, lending a sense of longevity.

Upon entry, a colourful wall of art leads into the living and dining areas. United within an open floor plan, these zones champion expansive views of the New Jersey skyline, framed by oversized windows. Designed for effortless entertaining, these spaces sit close to the kitchen, where fluted glass pocket doors maintain a sense of intimacy within. In the apartment’s private wing, a monochrome theatre and a lively playroom offer alternative places for entertainment. The media room doubles as a sleeping area, featuring a sofa constructed from three twin mattresses. Elsewhere, bedrooms are tranquil retreats, lined with fabrics that layer soft, inviting textures. In the primary bedroom, the custom king-sized bed pairs well with an integrated sofa that curves along the windowed wall, drawing residents closer to the view.

Tailored to family life, the layout, colours and materials of Hudson Riverfront Residence enhance its liveability. Throughout, furniture placement maintains a visual connection to the river while establishing a dynamic interior rhythm that echoes the water’s movement. The layout also maximises floor and storage space. Rich blues and greens appear throughout the art and textiles, evoking the hues of the landscape. These tones are grounded by natural materials such as white oak and travertine, which provide a calm, neutral foundation. In the shared spaces, plaster walls add depth and richness.
