The Osment
The Osment by Kincrest brings refined, design-led living to Prahran’s Greville Village, uniting sculptural architecture, timeless interiors and wellness-focused amenities in a boutique sanctuary.
In Greville Village in Melbourne’s Prahran, The Osment offers a considered response to a neighbourhood known for its heritage and street life. Brought to life by Kincrest under the leadership of managing director Tom Howgate, the project is the result of a collaboration between Cheah Saw Architecture, Lawless & Meyerson and Vividgreen Landscaping, each contributing to an environment shaped around calm, texture and long-term liveability.
Cheah Saw Architecture’s approach begins at the facade, where pleated forms and sculptural folds give the building rhythm and softness. Cascading planting draws greenery across its edges, easing the transition into Grattan Gardens and the surrounding streets. A landscaped passageway reconnects Porter Street with the park, restoring a pedestrian link and weaving the development back into village life. For Howgate, these gestures speak to Kincrest’s ethos: design that holds a meaningful relationship with place, landscape and daily ritual.
Inside, Lawless & Meyerson brings an understated sensibility. Textured timber, honed stone and muted tones set a foundation of quiet elegance, while integrated Miele appliances, refined joinery and sculptural bathrooms provide continuity across each residence. Two- and three-bedroom homes – along with a whole-floor penthouse – are arranged to maximise proportion, natural light and ease, with full-height glazing framing views towards the CBD on the upper levels. The palette is composed with longevity in mind, favouring earthy finishes and lasting serenity over momentary trends.
Vividgreen’s landscape vision amplifies this atmosphere. Foliage softens communal spaces and terraces, creating moments of retreat and privacy. On the rooftop, greenery wraps around a pool deck, sauna, cold plunge pool and gym, bringing tranquillity to spaces designed for wellness and restoration. Additional communal areas – from a residents’ lounge, library and co-working nooks to a cinema and children’s playroom – support connection as much as individual quietude. Concierge services add fluidity to day-to-day life, reflecting Kincrest’s attention to comfort well beyond settlement.
The project’s identity draws from Prahran’s past. Named for Henry Osment – a councillor, publisher, mayor and influential civic figure of the late 19th century – The Osment acknowledges a history embedded in local landmarks, including the Osment Building on Chapel Street. It is a reminder that contemporary architecture sits within a lineage of progress, community and layered urban stories.
Positioned among cafes, dining institutions, small retailers and Prahran Market, The Osment is enveloped in its locale. Greville Village’s walkability, green pockets and lively public realm sit in counterpoint to the materially focused interiors of the development. This balance is central to the experience: a dwelling that moves easily between the immediacy of the village and the peace of a private sanctuary.
Delivered by Ireland Brown Constructions, the project reflects Kincrest’s values-led approach. Howgate’s involvement from concept through to completion maintains clarity across design and construction, reinforcing the developer’s commitment to quality, longevity and relationships shaped by genuine care.
