Celebrating Everyday Self-Care – Baina Organic Cotton Towels
Founded by Bailey Meredith and Anna Fahey, Baina is the eponymous Antipodean brand of curated towelling.
Having waited for the right time to establish a business together, both Bailey and Anna found themselves in the position to launch Baina when they moved to Melbourne from New Zealand. With previous experience at design-led furniture brand Jardan, Bailey and Anna attest that “the company really inspired us when it came to form Baina’s ideals and brand pillars.”
After spending numerous years within the fashion industry, Baina’s founders were determined to introduce a product that had a functional purpose while remaining appealing to a design-conscious audience. Quickly realising that there were not a lot of options within the boutique towelling space that use organic cotton and practice sustainable design, Baina was formed to transform and elevate an everyday ritual.
Utilising contemporary design, Baina ensures that all users are able to celebrate bathing as a ritual, ‘softening into the moments that begin and end the day.’ Modern designs that are present in these organic towels are a nod to fine art, sculpture and architecture. The patterns and designs of each piece reflect Bailey and Anna’s expert understanding of colour theory.
“We really went on a journey with this first collection, being guided by colour theory, architecture, nature and fashion. At the essence, we wanted to create designs that spoke to different aesthetics,” Anna says. The first range of towels that Baina has recently launched is inclusive and showcases the brands’ considered and thoughtful design approach.

Baina towels are made in Portugal, in one of Europe’s most established mills that has received a Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certificate in organic cotton. “The GOTS”, as Anna explains, “requires manufactures to maintain an incredibly high standard of transparency throughout their supply chain as well as their production outputs in order to maintain this certification. “We are proud to be working with a progressive manufacturer who holds sustainability at the core of their business, aligning with our values.”
In more than one way – from design, to production, and finally use – Baina represents the kind of considered simplicity that elevates the everyday object into something timeless and beautiful.
