One of Australia’s leading design brands, Zuster is setting a new standard in locally made luxury.

Led by sisters Wilhelmina McCarroll and Fleur Sibbel – who represent the fifth generation in a Dutch furniture-making lineage – Zuster showcases a European respect for tradition, refinement and craftsmanship melded with a deeply modern ethos driven by innovation and a commitment to sustainable practices.

Wilhelmina says the collection not only reflects her love of fashion and jewellery but her passion to create furniture that is a harmonious blend of artistry and functionality.

Nowhere is that more perfectly encapsulated than in Zuster’s latest collection, Adorn, which embraces sophisticated silhouettes, three-dimensional embellishments and geometric motifs in pieces that take their cue from haute couture. Wilhelmina says the collection not only reflects her love of fashion and jewellery but her passion to create furniture that is a harmonious blend of artistry and functionality. “With Adorn, I focused on combining elements from fashion such as ruffled fabric, covered buttons and delicate brooches and transferring them into furniture design,” she says. “The pieces not only serve their functional purpose but also add a touch of elegance reminiscent of jewellery’s allure.”

The 20-piece collection, for living, dining and bedrooms, is available in four motifs – Artisan, Marigold, Maxima and Rosette – all marked by intricate design details and handcrafted embellishments. Armchairs and sofas feature ribbon stitching and tulip-inspired curves; the Marigold pieces have three-dimensional handles that resemble pleated dresses and timber studs reminiscent of wooden buttons. “Adorn really reflects our commitment to design intricacies,” says Fleur, the brand’s managing director. “Each piece has been considered and crafted with great depth.” Additionally, the collection is customisable, “giving our clients a tailored experience and a sense of creative freedom,” she notes.

“The bathroom collection signifies Zuster’s manufacturing excellence and timeless craftsmanship,” says Fleur.

That same attention to detail is also a hallmark of the Adorn bathroom collection, the brand’s sixth ISSY by Zuster collaboration, designed and manufactured in Melbourne exclusively for Reece. The Adorn vanities feature innovative three-dimensional door and drawer fronts, with a series of intricately designed handles in a variety of custom finishes, from Corian to marble inlays.

“The bathroom collection signifies Zuster’s manufacturing excellence and timeless craftsmanship,” says Fleur. “Our team has prototyped and developed this collection over the past year and meticulously revised each detail.” Like everything Zuster creates, Adorn reflects the company’s three-decade commitment to continuous improvement, creativity and innovation.
