Celebrating its origins, apaiser – Australian designer and maker of luxury, sustainable bathware – introduces the Australian palette. The curated range of colours is inspired by native flora and fauna and pays homage to the brand’s homeland.

Founded over 20 years ago in Melbourne, apaiser reimagines the concept of the bathroom space, uniting functionality with an experience of sanctuary and retreat. Whilst bathware designs and finishes were only available in white, apaiser’s innovation saw the company offer new, organic materials in a variety of colours and unique, freestanding designs. Crucial to the brand is its sustainable material apaiserMARBLE®, which serves as an alternative to traditional material selections. apaiserMARBLE® is a special blend of reclaimed marble and high-quality resin enriched with stone and minerals from the Barossa Valley.

Comprised of six colours that each pay homage to the native environment and beauty of our homeland, the Australian palette was inspired by apaiser’s pride of its Australian heritage and the idea of going back to the company’s roots. Ghost Gum takes its name and colouring from Gum trees that are often associated with the Australian bush and spirit – the colour echoes the luminous glow of the tree bark in moonlight. A delicate grey, Daintree then alludes to the mist-covered canopies of the Daintree Rainforest.

Conversely, Brolga Grey refers to the tip of a brolga’s wing; a grey to honour the aesthetic and social rituals of one of Australia’s largest flying birds. Formulated with a similar sense of admiration, Red Earth forms a visual symbol of acknowledgment to the first inhabitants of Australia. A rich, rusty hue, Red Earth is a recognition of resilience. Salt Bush then combines green and grey to represent the native Australian plant. Finally, Mangrove is a dark ode to the creatures lurking in the shadows of the mangrove forest. Conceptually, the colour reflects the vital role Australia plays in the health of coastal and estuarine ecosystems.

Mirroring its material influence, the apaiser offering retains the luxurious tactile quality of marble whilst surpassing it in functionality. apaiserMARBLE® is slip, scratch, mould and bacteria-resistant, warm to the touch, non-yellowing and fade-resistant. In addition, the material is lighter than natural stone and easy to clean.

Sustainably crafted and eco-conscious, apaiserMARBLE® contains up to 90 per cent reclaimed crushed marble that is gathered locally to minimise carbon emissions. Minimal synthetic ingredients are used in its composition, with no added silica or aluminium trihydrate. During the finishing process, apaiser uses recycled water and little mechanisation. With recent technological developments, apaiser products are 100 per cent recyclable, durable and considerate of the natural environment.
