Marking its 10th anniversary in 2023, Len meticulously designs and produces sustainable and authentic furniture that embodies artisanal craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Founded in 2013 by Art Director Helen Kontouris and Brand Director Simon Cross – both of whom have more than 20 years’ experience in the design industry working with the world’s most respected galleries, collectors and brands – Len has grown to become one of Australia’s foremost furniture companies and expanded its reach with a global clientele.

Len’s newest collection, Bauhaus, was originally commissioned by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) for its Great Hall and represents a culmination of the brand’s skill and dedication to craft. The NGV, known for its discerning aesthetic and commitment to excellence, entrusted Helen with crafting a collection suitable for the millions of visitors who visit the gallery each year. The collection itself has multiple muses – the colourful 60-metre stained-glass ceiling of the NGV’s Great Hall, bauhaus philosophy, and the painted wooden blocks crafted by bauhaus luminary Alma Seidhoff-Buscher in the 1920s to encourage children’s creative expression and an understanding of form and structure. From these disparate threads, Helen wove a collection of pieces that encourage interaction and creativity. The designs are fluid and invite individuals to create their own compositions.

To this collection, Len has recently introduced Bauhaus with Screens, a sophisticated accessory thoughtfully designed to cultivate concentration and interaction. The range is a stunning embodiment of geometry in design, presenting a delightful interplay of squares, circles and rectangles.

As a whole, the Bauhaus collection embodies the philosophy of adaptability, the seating structures morphing effortlessly within intimate corners and vast open-plan environments. It’s an inviting assemblage, flexible in its application yet uncompromising in its luxurious comfort, and remains true to the Len identity forged over the past decade.
