Aligning with its coastal positioning, Bayside Blue combines linear and curved approaches to offer a sense of balance from within, exuding an overall calm throughout. Skulptur Architecture propose a highly considered resolve to sit comfortably amongst a heritage yet contemporary context, responding to the home’s Port Phillip Bay location.

Bayside Blue looks to create an experience of elevated and contemporary living with a coastal focus. Nestled into the bayside locale of Beaumaris, the overall approach conveys an understanding of balance, reflecting the meeting of Port Phillip Bay and the surrounding terrain and parklands. The merging of this deeply natural approach with a flowing sensibility encourages an ease of movement between the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. With architecture and interior design by Skulptur Architecture, the resulting residence is a delicate balance of muted and bold tones, creating a warm and embracing home.

Bayside Blue encompasses the entirety of its site – softening its bounding edges with thoughtful landscaping. With the home encouraging both interior and exterior occupations, the outdoor areas become an extension of the interior condition, connecting to the surrounds to instil an atmosphere of retreat. With the value of flexibility ingrained into the design of the structure, the home is reflective of its family and anticipates the need for activity and contemplation to harmoniously exist.

From the initial interaction with the home, the form sits respectfully amongst the surrounding neighbourhood, broken up into a series of coalescing forms. A subtly sweeping and angled wall invites visitors to the main entry, whilst the combination of rendered and timber clad elements add a textural complexity to the overall composition. Inside, a continued rigour carries throughout – a clear attention to detail is evidenced, emphasising quality and longevity at the core. As a forever home, the palette conveys a contemporary freshness, with quality materials such as stone and brass underpinning its endurance.

Through a warm and calm approach, Bayside Blue reinterprets the coastal aesthetic to emerge as a soulful residence. Skulptur Architecture produced a home that is a relaxing retreat grounded in its location.
