Restful and Resolved – Cult Stella by The Stella Collective
Melbourne-based interior design studio The Stella Collective has launched Cult Stella – a range of resolved bathroom concepts expressing the same neo-classical ideals and ethereal aesthetic the design practice is renowned for.
Founder Hana Hakim says the concept was conceived in the hopes of simplifying the processes of bathroom design and construction. “We believe in the pursuit of ease when it comes to renovations,” she says. “With Cult Stella, we’ve removed any chance of costly design mistakes and shortfalls, creating a product that is, in all senses, the ready-to-wear for bathrooms.”
Each of the six designs embodies the same soothing charm. Neutral hues and warm textures characterise the harmonious collection; there are curvaceous forms, natural stone and hints of green on a creamy palette. The layouts have been designed to be flexible, too; they can be adapted to suit a project’s specific needs, be it a single dwelling or a large multi-residential build.
As a concept, Cult Stella is not dissimilar to a beautifully designed modular home – it harnesses The Stella Collective team’s expertise to offer a thoughtful yet adaptable bathroom design. And while the concept is new to The Stella Collective, in many ways it’s a celebration of the practice’s work to date, with most materials and finishes sourced from longstanding suppliers and craftspeople.
Through restful forms and materiality, Cult Stella cleverly channels the act of self-care, addressing the role of a well-designed and executed space in our ability to feel rejuvenated.
