Delta Millworks is a family-owned sustainable wood manufacturer with a worldwide client base, specialising in architectural-grade siding, panelling and decking crafted from reclaimed and responsibly sourced timber.

Delta Millworks is a pioneer in sustainable wood manufacturing. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, the family-owned company has evolved from a small Austin-based outfit focused on architectural millwork and reclaimed longleaf pine to become a globally recognised leader in architectural-grade siding, panelling and decking crafted from high-performance, sustainably sourced timber.

“We stand for sustainability at Delta. From the wood to the coatings to everything we do, we truly believe in renewable products.”

Founded in 1985 by Bob Davis, Delta Millworks began with a personal restoration project that ignited a passion for reclaimed timber. Davis’s commitment to craftsmanship and preservation soon led him to salvage structural timbers from historic buildings across the American south, making Delta Millworks one of the first US companies to champion reclaimed wood as a design material. This early ethos – that great design can coexist with sustainability – still anchors the company today.

“We stand for sustainability at Delta,” says Robbie Davis, Bob’s son and the company’s current CEO. “From the wood to the coatings to everything we do, we truly believe in renewable products and timber sourced from sustainable forests that are growing, not shrinking.”

Delta Millworks continues to push the boundaries in fine wood craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with precision milling.

Today, 100 per cent of Delta’s products are sustainably sourced, including reclaimed and repurposed wood, FSC-certified timber, modified wood and responsibly harvested North American timber. The company works with the industry’s most trusted suppliers, offering premium products such as Lunawood ThermoWood, Accoya, Western Red Cedar and Old Souls Reclaimed Wood.

Design is inseparable from sustainability at Delta Millworks, with sophisticated finishes and an artisanal approach to wood treatment. Honouring his father’s pioneering spirit, Robbie Davis began experimenting with wood charring, stumbling upon the traditional      Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban in the process. This breakthrough led Delta to introduce the first modern Shou Sugi Ban siding product to the market, altering how wood is treated, finished and applied to modern architecture. Under his leadership, Delta Millworks continues to push the boundaries in fine wood craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with precision milling and coatings to create factory-finished products that are durable and beautiful.

Throughout every project, the team provides expert guidance on performance, maintenance, application and budget considerations.

Customising and service are also key parts of the Delta Millworks offering. Clients can select from a wide range of existing profiles and finishes for streamlined production, or collaborate directly with the team on bespoke colour-matching, texturing, burning and milling. Throughout every project, the team provides expert guidance on performance, maintenance, application and budget considerations. Delta’s original East Austin mill remains the heart of its operations, with every step of the built-to-order manufacturing process happening in-house. Not only does this help with quality control, it also provides local manufacturing jobs.

The 40th anniversary marks a new chapter for the company, with a new headquarters and production facility in Wimberley, Texas. Designed by Pollen Architecture, the space will expand production and deepen research capabilities, supporting the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and thoughtful regional growth.

Delta continues to work closely with leading architects, designers and builders, who share a belief in wood as a renewable, enduring material.

As Delta Millworks enters its next decade, it continues to work closely with leading architects, designers and builders, who share a belief in wood as a renewable, enduring material. Through every collaboration, the company stays true to the values that shaped its beginnings: integrity in process, respect for the environment and the conviction that great design begins with great materials.
