Handcrafted Dreams – DOMO Launches Wittmann's Design Line Bedroom Collection
DOMO has launched Wittmann’s Design Line Bedroom Collection, a distinctive series of beds created by renowned international designers. Adding an element of European style to the bedroom, Wittmann’s Design Line Bedroom Collection is available to order in Australia exclusively through DOMO.
Wittmann has been producing handcrafted furniture for over 120 years, in the process creating timeless examples of design classics that combine European style with an easy confidence and modernist character. Since establishing a partnership in 2019, DOMO has brought Wittmann furniture and its numerous collaborations with renowned European designers directly to the Australian market. The introduction of Wittmann’s Design Line Bedroom Collection represents an important chapter in the DOMO-Wittmann partnership and another addition to DOMO’s impressive portfolio.
Referred to as ‘handcrafted dreams’, the distinctive beds in the Design Line Bedroom Collection were designed for Wittmann by renowned international designers, and so this latest collection is defined by the approaches of each designer. The impressive assembly of European design royalty includes Luca Nichetto, responsible for the Andes and Paradise Bed, Jaime Hayon, who created the Wings Bed, and Soda Designers (Nada Nasrallah and Christian Horner) contributing the Joyce Cushion Bed and Joyce Niche. By offering contrasting design styles, the Design Line Bedroom Collection creates a sophisticated and expressive solution, delivering an element of individuality to allow for a more personal approach to bedroom design.
The complete beds that make up the Design Line Collection reflect elements of each designer’s signature style, creating a vibrant collection of contemporary bedding that features clean lines and just a hint of dramatic curvature. While subtly different in design execution, the element that unites the entire Design Line Collection is a design cast from a singular continuous console, meaning the bed base and headboard are combined in a satisfyingly cohesive unit.
The external aesthetic of each bed is but one piece of a much larger puzzle, and Wittmann is acutely aware that the ergonomics behind the Design Line Bedroom Collection play an important part in its overall success. The internal configurations of each bed are designed to deliver exemplary flexibility, with the base setting the tone for the entire piece. Depending on the model chosen, the complete beds include either a box spring base or insert frame, allowing the integration of any bed system.
Available in Australia exclusively through DOMO, Wittmann’s Design Line Bedroom Collection offers bedding with an easy confidence, timeless quality and modern character, allowing Australian designers and their clients to create their own handcrafted dreams by customising via materials, fabrics and finishes. Certain models will be on display by the end of 2021.
